Purpose
Greystoke Community Land Trust (Greystoke CLT) is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and respectful organisation that works in the best interests of the community. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all members.
Members are expected to:
- support the aims and objectives of Greystoke Community Land Trust;
- comply with the CLT’s Rules and adopted policies;
- treat fellow members, Directors, volunteers and members of the public with courtesy, dignity and respect;
- contribute constructively to meetings and discussions;
- respect differing opinions and participate in debate in a positive and respectful manner;
- act honestly and in good faith in dealings with the CLT;
- respect confidential information where appropriate;
- avoid behaviour that could bring the CLT into disrepute;
- comply with the CLT’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and not engage in discrimination, harassment, bullying or abusive behaviour.
Concerns about Conduct
Where a member’s conduct falls below the standards expected by the CLT, the matter may be addressed informally where appropriate. Where necessary, concerns may be considered by the Board in accordance with the CLT’s Complaints Policy and the CLT’s Rules.
Serious or Persistent Misconduct
Serious or repeated breaches of this Code may result in action being taken under the CLT’s Rules, including consideration of suspension or termination of membership where appropriate.
Review
This Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Board every three years, or sooner if required by changes in legislation, the CLT’s Rules or operational needs.
